4) Anchor Archive Open Hours Training Session - Tuesday, August 7th, 5-6pm
Interested in volunteering at the Anchor Archive? Open hours volunteers staff the library for one or more 3-hour shifts per month and help visitors to the library find zines, borrow zines, become members, and use the photocopier. There will be a training session for new open hours volunteers on Tuesday, August 7 from 5-6 pm. E-mail Amanda at zinelibrary@robertsstreet.org to sign up or get more info.

5) Letters to Cece - Wednesday, August 8th, 7pm
This is a night of letter-writing to support CeCe MacDonald, a young African American transgender woman who was charged with two counts of "second degree murder" after an incident that began when she was violently assaulted because of her gender and race. If there are other people behind bars you want to write letters to as well, feel free to come on by. Stamps, paper and pens will be provided.

6) Zine Cataloguing Party - Wednesday, August 8th, 5-7pm
The Anchor Archive is cataloguing all of its zines and making them available in our searchable online catalogue. With the help of amazing volunteers we've finished cataloguing over half of our collection. But we can always use more help, so if you'd like to spend some time checking out zines, meet some nice folks, and eat delicious snacks come to a cataloguing party! They happen at the Anchor Archive every Wednesday from 5-7 pm. New cataloguers will receive training. For more information e-mail us at zinelibrary@robertsstreet.org.

At each event you submit a topic that you would like to see someone else present on, and we collect names of people willing to do presentations on topics they most likely know little about! A few names and topics are drawn and people prepare a short (5-15min) presentation for the next session. We'll be doing a lottery for an event next month!! So come with some ideas for topics to be thrown into the hat!
