Urban Maple Sugaring Project wrap-up

by anchorarchivist... ()

Last Friday, Mike and Juele did the final boil-down of maple sap they collected around Halifax's north end, even in the crazy weather. A handful of people showed up despite the storm (those wonderful keeners!) and zines were distributed, stories and pancakes shared. The experience was a happy, if cold and wet one. There is maple syrup in the fridge at Roberts Street - please help yourself to it. It should be filtered very soon-there's some sediment from the bonfire..nothing that should be harmful. They also made zines about their experience, which are available for free at the Anchor Archive Zine Library.  Thank you and farewell to our first residents of the season!
