Saturday July 10th at 5pm until Sunday July 11th at 5pm = 24 Hour Zine Challenge
Sunday July 11th, 2pm-5pm = Anchor Archive 5-Year Birthday Celebration

All events at the Roberts Street Social Centre – 5684 Roberts Street (off Agricola)

The 24 Hour Zine Challenge is happening again! Come celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Anchor Archive Zine Library with a full day of zine-making activities!

Zines are self-published magazines made outside of mainstream press and media, by all kinds of people about all kinds of things. The Anchor Archive sees zines as an important way to take media into your own hands, find a voice for yourself, and find information and stories that aren't represented in mainstream media and culture

Zines made during the 24 Hour Zine Challenge can be as long or short as you like, in any format, and all ages and experience levels are welcome to participate. You can make one on your own or bring a friend along. We have lots of zine making supplies – paper, clip art, pens and pencils and scissors and glue sticks, paper cutters, long-armed heavy-duty stapler, typewriters, computers, printers, a photocopier, screenprinting and block printing materials.  You are welcome to work at Roberts Street for the whole time, or can come and go.
