What's Good: Call for Participationby nicolem ( )
First of all, we owe you a belated introduction. We are Molly and Hunter and we are currently residenting in the shed at Roberts Street. We've been here since Monday the 24th and will be leaving town sometime the week of June 6, which is technically the last day of our residency. So far it's been wonderful to meet those of you we've met, and we look forward to meeting everyone else soon.
Our zine project is about learning how to focus in on & to name what we like, what we want, what we believe can, should, or could exist (and by 'we' we don't just mean Molly and Hunter). In one sense that means working to identify the things we like and enjoy that lay hidden in the world we walk through every day; but that also means learning to imagine what’s not here, and thinking about how to combine it with what is. Revolution, or social change, or a better world is not some far-away place—it is lurking all around us, struggling to emerge. We just have to encourage it.
To do this, we need your help, and in three different ways.
1) We've been making and installing two Answer Boxes these last days: one is on the wall of the abandoned building between Alteregos and the Good Food Emporium on Gottingen Street, and the other is to the left of the door of the shed at Roberts Street. With each box is a question for everyone to answer, which we'll change periodically. Please stop by and put a response in the box. You can also leave us questions in the box and we'll leave you our answer.
3) On Tuesday, June 1st at 7pm in the Crow's Nest , we'll be hosting a workshop of sorts, a Think-a-Thons, or Talk-a-Thons, Draw-a-Thons or Make-a-Thon where we'll be soliciting donations for our Belief Bank. At the workshop we would like to have you help generate some content for our final zine, whether that means talking with us, drawing pictures, or writing something yourself. Bring your imagination!
