How to post to blogs
- To post to a Roberts Street blog, first you need a username and password. Ask a Roberts Street volunteer to create an account for you in the role of Resident. Make note of your username and password, then log into the website by clicking Login in the menu.
- You should see a menu item called Create Content and below that Blog. Click on Blog.
- Fill in the Title field with whatever you want your blog post to be called.
- Under Blog type select Residency Blog if you're a resident and making a blog post about your projects as a resident. Or if you are a zine librarian and are posting to the Catalogue Blog, select Catalogue Blog.
- If you are posting to the Residency Blog, do not enter anything in the Catalogue Blog Tags field. If you are posting to the Catalogue Blog, leave this field blank for now and fill it out after you have written your blog post.
- Scroll down the page to below the Body field and select the link enable rich-text. You will see links appear above the Body field that allow you to apply formatting to your blog post, such as bolding text and making numbered lists. This will allow you to format your blog post without using HTML tags. If you would prefer to use HTML tags you can instead select Filtered HTML or Full HTML under Input format.
- Write your blog post. You can add images too, using the Add image link.
- When you are done, if you are posting to the Catalogue Blog you can go back to the Catalogue Blog Tags field and add tags that describe your blog post. Otherwise, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Submit. Or you can look at your page before publishing it by clicking Preview instead.
- To look at your blog post or other blog posts, go to Blogs in the menu and select the blog that you want to look at.
- If you have any questions, contact Amanda.
