"27 Drawers" is a group exhibition of 27 international artists, which

Halifax basement. This filing cabinet shall serve as a gallery for the
display of these multiple artists' works.
2. Semaphore Cinema: Waltz with Bashir
Wednesday February 4, 7pm
"An
antiwar film of the first rank, Ari Folman's Waltz with Bashir
(Israel/France/Germany/USA, 2008) tackles a taboo theme seldom treated
in Israeli media. This
feature-length animated documentary chronicles Israeli complicity in
the June 1982 massacre of Palestinian civilians by Lebanese Phalangists
in the Beirut refugee camps of Sabra and Shatila." Come by, or watch
for it as part of AFCOOP's Monday Night Movies at Park Lane in March.
3. Popular Education Series: Ted Rutland - "The Politics of Maps"
Wednesday February 11, 7pm
Maps, as we know them,
were developed to help imperial powers like Rome and Britain understand
and control distant territories; they have been inseparable from the
exercise of political power ever since. This talk explores the
connections between power and geographical knowledge by looking closely
at three maps of Halifax, produced at different periods between the
city's founding and the present.

to those of you who graciously joined and helped us out). We just
revamped the packages to reflect our new name and we would love it if

little info sheet in the mail (real mail - what's your address?)

continue to grow and thrive.
